I really want Julie to go back to broadway and do a play, after all she can still act. Then she can FINALLY get her well deserved Tony.

  • tigrr10:

fyi – The Tony Awards, are NOT voted on by members of the Theatre industry. They are voted on by some Producers and a very elite and small crowd, mostly socialites and businessmen. It is often a purely politcial and business-oriented award. Sad to say, but true.

I didn’t know Carol Channing had a twin sister!? good for her.

  • tranurse:

    she’s got class.

  • groovygirl23:

    Sharon Channing?

    That’s the legendary Carol Channing

  • kylezo:

    Sharon Channing? hahaha

  • LukeWittz:

    its carol channing dumb ass

  • bombygriz:

It takes guts to turn down Broadway’s greatest honour in favour of supporting ALL your cast- and crew-mates. This woman is amazing.

  • popcornchickendude:

Did I like the musical Victor/Victoria? Not incredibly. It was slow at times, with some unmemorable songs. But, did they deserve to only get a nomination for Julie Andrews? No! Julie definitely deserved hers, hell, she would’ve won that year! But the costumes, Rachel York, set, Tony Edwards, they deserved nominations too! Especially Rachel, because if Andrews wasn’t there, she would’ve stolen the show.

  • princesso8788:

I agree only one word can describe her and that is pure CLASS.

  • Framblott:

Isn’t it awful when a woman in public life has gorgeous breasts and doesn’t get credit for them because they don’t fit her image. Sit down Carol. For example, Julie Andrews (the movie SOB), Katherine Grayson(38s), Marie Wilson (38s), and the 25 yr old Elizabeth II (38s same as M Monroe).

  • Framblott:

@ryboe77. No, it’s Sherrol Channing, and I had her when she was good. Together we sang Ceement Mixer Puttee Puttee.

  • stephen1102:

She probably just ran out of room on her trophy shelf.

  • luckey13chic:

That is just so inspiring. Talk about the most unselfish person ever. Holy crap.

  • IamGodsGirlandsecond:

You cant find a more classy lady than that one right there. Love her!

  • chassetriel:

you don’t get many people who turn down prestigious awards because the supporting cast were unacknowledged, nowadays. love her to bits!

  • BibbfibbleBayby:

she was born to be a queen.

  • rojocomolagrana:

@disneygirly22 Because the remainder of the company was not recognized.

@indyfred1 OMG Don’t say that, that’s how rumors get started! LMAO xD

  • indyfred1:

That was Carol’s twin sister and stunt double Sharon. (jk)

  • LiveLaughLove8489:

@EquineDreams mary poppins for me and princess diaries, and she still does have class. always will.

    A. She was refering to her entire cast. She was the only one nominated from Victor/Victoria
    B. The show was Victor/Victoria.

  • JuneRox25:

They put Sharon Channing. Isn’t it Carol channing?

  • Beejeification:

@EquineDreams HAHA its okay. She turned down the nomination because the rest of the company of the show “Victor/Victoria” was overlooked: she was the only one from the show who was nominated. Since she felt it was wrong that she was recognized and her superb cast and crew wasn’t, she turned down the nomination.

  • EquineDreams:

She had real CLASS! Growing up I knew her mostly from “The Sound of Music” and always loved her. But I don’t know my theater history. When she said “overlooked” who was she referring to? And what were they trying to give her the tony award for- was this for Camelot? Please forgive my ignorance.

This guy makes you want to go to NYC and see his show. Which one is he in? He should also be on one of those entertainment shows as a reporter. He is great
